The FOWT 2025 Organization Committee is pleased to announce the official Call for Abstracts for the largest floating offshore wind event worldwide. FOWT 2025 will take place from April 23-25, 2025, in Brest (Brittany), France, and will feature plenary and technical sessions.
We invite you to submit original abstracts that align with the topics detailed below. Selected speakers will have the opportunity to present at this premier international event in front of key industry players, decision-makers, and technical experts.
Plenary Sessions
Submissions for plenary sessions should address high-level, experience-based topics and be accessible to a general professional audience.
Key themes include:
Harbours & supply chain: Preparing ports as hubs for serial fabrication, offshore operations, and supply chain readiness.
Environmental impact & co-activity: Balancing economic activities with environmental protection—challenges and success stories.
Tendering & permitting: Navigating non-price criteria and rising costs.
Operation & Maintenance: Developing cost-effective and safe O&M solutions.
Delivering floating electricity: Tackling challenges and offering solutions for reliable, cost-effective energy delivery.
Win/win interface risk management solutions: How to share project risks constructively without affecting economic viability or delivery timelines.
Technical Sessions
These sessions are highly technical and scientific, aimed at a specialized audience.
Topics include:
Numerical and AI tools to enhance FOWT design and operations.
FOWT testing: Innovative trials in laboratories and at sea.
Wind farm monitoring: Understanding wind resources, wakes, and ecosystems.
What we are looking for ?
High-level abstracts that reflect concrete experience and/or highly technical content. Your abstract should be original and specifically prepared for FOWT 2025. At FOWT we prize the “best of science” and “best of technology,” with a strict “no pay-to-speak” policy. This also means that any abstract containing a strong commercial/pitch aspect will be rejected.
